She Wants Wine – You Know She Does

The best wines are the ones we drink with friends and lovers. Last Thursday was such a great time watching the premier of Scandal with a group of lovely ladies. What was so great about it was that this hang out session was actually an event so carefully planned by Lauren Tennyson, a fabulous entrepreneur who is following her passion through her start up called She Wants Wine.

She Wants Wine was created as a wine lifestyle brand that drives to inspire and educate you on what the world has to offer the person who is working towards having it all.

What does She Wants Wine offer you ask?
– Private networking events
– Private label wine (coming soon)
– Group travel experiences
– Bottle service for your event
– Select wines for sale

As I naturally gravitate towards the reds, I found myself just slurping it all 🙂 Lauren created an evening of fun where there were sipping games every time a word was said by an actor on the show or even a finish your glass moment when an old school song played in the background on one of the scenes. All the wines laid out were even personally named to give you insight into Lauren’s attitude for the wine type. Lot of laughs and conversations were had throughout the night and we managed to get a still picture…

I am so proud of these gals that I met all striving to live life to the fullest and striving to do what they love every day. On top of that they are super fun and you will definitely hear more of my adventures with them. Nothing better than to have a group of supporters when you start something new. Check out She Wants Wine!

Top Unique Fitness Events – Are you up for the challenge?

Hello Happy People!

Crazy how time flies. Only four more months to complete this year out. Most of us started the year with our ambitious fitness resolutions only to find out that we really only focused on it for the first couple months and quickly laze away with that goal. Well don’t be discouraged! You still have time to start. It takes four weeks for you to notice changes in your body, eight weeks for friends and family to notice, and twelve total weeks for the whole world to notice all of the hard work spent burning off those calories. So that is three whole months to achieve a ton of progress in your fitness journey by the end of 2014.

While I do have the privilege of participating in workout classes during the work day. There was a time when I didn’t go and simply did my own workout. I will definitely share more in a later post of simple workouts and healthy meal plans I do. For now, I found some awesome events you can work up to or sign up for now if you are already working out on a daily basis.

Make sure you give yourself a month of working up to any of the more challenging events. Don’t just jump straight into these as you will definitely be too exhausted to move the next day and possibly injure yourself during the event. Listen to your body if you haven’t worked out in a while and gauge when you are able to sign up for these events. But we all know you can do it.

Workout Buddies

It is always fun to bring in friends with any fitness goal. Rally up a few friends to sign up and create some lasting memories.

Support a Cause or Even Win Some Mullah $$$

A lot of these events are supporting a cause or some of them allow you to win some cash if you are in the top performing group. Take advantage of it all. If you know of any more fun fitness events to add, please don’t hesitate to comment below and share with all! These are just some things I think would be cool to knock off my fitness event bucket list.

Fight For Air Climb

The Fight for Air Climb is definitely a unique fitness event hosted by the American Lung Association. This event occurs in 65 cities and occur in various places such as skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and challenge participants as they walk, run or race up hundreds of steps. You can do it individually or with a team to raise money for a good cause.

Great Urban Race

Now this is something unique and fun! The Great Urban Race is held in varying cities and teams solve clues, tackle challenges and race for cash prizes. Starts out with your team receiving 12 cryptic clues and each team will have 5 hours to race around the city to solve them. At the end, each team submits their responses and see who gets placed in the top three. Your team can also win to reach the National Championship Race. This is like your own Amazing Race show.

Warrior Dash

Warrior Dash is a large obstacle race series, held in more than 50 locations across the globe. Conquer a 3-4 mile course and 12 extreme obstacles. After conquering it all, celebrate with turkey legs, beer steins, and live music at a post-race party in a league of its own. There is even a national championship held consisting of the top winners where you could win $100,000 of total prize money. So push yourself!

Devil Dash

Devil Dash is a 5K running course comprised of many obstacles themed after the 7 Deadly Sins and then ending at the “Beer Garden of Eden” party. You will be climbing over cargo nets, running through the river, crawling through mud pits, and much more!

Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course consisting of lifting your fellow mates to form a pyramid, climbing through underwater tunnels, and climbing up to the top of a huge slide and rewarding yourself of taking the plunge into a pool of water. It’s about having a great story to tell of how you finished a crazy hard course.

Spartan Race

For my fellow fitness beasts, the Spartan Race is an intense obstacle course consisting of varying difficulties. The Spartan Sprint (3+ miles of obstacle racing), the Super Spartan (8+ miles), the Spartan Beast (12+ miles), and the Ultra Beast (26+ miles – one of two marathon obstacle courses along with Mudderthon) are your options. Spartan Race also has a military series in which obstacles are designed by the United States military. ESPN describes the Spartan Race as “a true test of will.

Hope this inspires you to take on a fitness challenge.
